Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Morogoro – Mikumi National ParkYour journey begins with a morning pickup at 6:00 AM from your hotel, airport, or ferry terminal in Dar es Salaam. Set off on a scenic 7-hour drive toward Mikumi National Park, passing through the Morogoro region. Along the way, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Uluguru Mountains and glimpses of rural Tanzanian life. After a lunch stop in Morogoro, you’ll arrive at Mikumi and embark on a late afternoon game drive. This first wildlife encounter offers opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and possibly lions and leopards in their natural savannah habitat. In the early evening, you’ll visit a nearby Maasai Boma for a unique cultural experience. Participate in traditional jumping dances, observe fire-making demonstrations, step inside a Maasai hut, and learn about their customs and daily life.
