- Day 1: Dar es Salaam to BagamoyoYour journey begins with a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam to Bagamoyo, taking approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, dive into the deep cultural and historical significance of this ancient town. Visit the Kaole Ruins, home to 13th-century mosques and tombs, and explore the Old Fort and the German Colonial Administrative Buildings. A stop at the Bagamoyo Catholic Museum and Mission provides insight into East Africa’s missionary history. You’ll also walk through the historic Caravan Serai, where slaves were once held before being shipped abroad. The day ends with an optional stroll along the peaceful Bagamoyo beach. Overnight at a comfortable beachside lodge or guesthouse.8 hours
- Day 2: Bagamoyo to Saadani National ParkAfter breakfast, check out and begin your coastal drive to Saadani National Park, which takes around 4 hours. This journey transitions you from the cultural coastline into Tanzania’s only national park bordering the sea. Upon arrival, check in at your eco-lodge inside the park. The rest of the day is yours to relax at the beach, explore the shoreline, or enjoy birdwatching. You may also encounter monkeys or antelopes wandering near your lodge. Enjoy dinner and a restful night surrounded by nature.6 hours
- Day 3: Saadani National Park and Wildlife Safari and Wami River Boat TourStart your day early with a full morning game drive through Saadani’s savannah, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, lions, sable antelopes, waterbucks, and buffaloes. After a bush lunch, continue with an afternoon boat safari on the Wami River. This is a highlight of the trip, offering the chance to observe hippos, crocodiles, and rare aquatic birds like mangrove kingfishers and lesser flamingos. Return to the lodge by sunset, where you can take a peaceful beach walk and possibly witness turtles nesting on the shore. Dinner and overnight at the park.10 hours
- Day 4: Saadani to Dar es Salaam Return JourneyEnjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out. You’ll have time for a final short nature walk or some last-minute wildlife spotting. Afterward, begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. The drive takes around 5–6 hours depending on conditions, and drop-off is available at your hotel, the ferry terminal, or the airport.7 hours
