The PADI Open Water Course certification is the scuba diving course that most people choose and is the foundation of the PADI educational system.
Learn to dive with Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village in one of the best diving destinations in the world.
With its abundance of beautiful coral and teeming with fish life, Sharm el Sheikh is the perfect place to take your first breaths underwater.
Once you have obtained your lifetime Open Water Diver certificate you will be able to Scuba dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
For Junior Open Water divers aged 10 and 11 years the maximum depth is 12 meters.
What you will do?
The 4 days PADI Open Water course begins in the classroom with the DVD and then the knowledge development continues in the open air of the beach front dive center.
Here the basic principles and knowledge for safe and enjoyable Scuba diving will be reviewed and explained by your instructor.
You will complete your five confined water dives on our house reef where, in the pool like conditions of the bay, you can comfortably master all the underwater skills whilst enjoying the beauty of the Red Sea.
The four open water dives; the final two being to a depth of a maximum of 18 meters, will either be conducted on our house reef or from one of our boats at nearby coastal reefs.
What are the requirements?
- No prior certification required
- General physical fitness and an ability to tread water for 10 minutes
- Minimum age 15 years. 10 years for Junior Open Water
