Your full-day Zanzibar experience begins with hotel pickup followed by a visit to a private spice farm. Guided by a local expert, you’ll walk through plantations of cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, and other crops. Learn about their origins, uses, and significance, and enjoy sampling spices and tropical fruits grown on-site. After the tour, enjoy a Swahili-style lunch served with seasonal fruits at the farm.
Next, head to Stone Town for a guided walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore historic landmarks, narrow streets, and vibrant local markets. Visit the old slave market, the Sultan’s Palace, and other culturally significant buildings that reflect Zanzibar’s Arabian, Persian, and European influences.
From Stone Town, take a short boat ride to Prison Island (Changuu Island), once used to detain rebellious slaves. The island is now home to Aldabra giant tortoises, where you can observe, touch, and feed these long-lived creatures. After the visit, return by boat to Stone Town and then transfer back to your hotel.
